LINDA
Bathroom appliances
1971 Design: Achille Castiglioni
1977 Production: Ideal Standard
The series of bathroom appliances Linda (sink, bidet, and wc) was studied for prefabricated and outfitted walls as it had to respond to European norms and be economical.
The sink, wider than it is deep, was designed to adapt to small spaces and the wc waste-pipe was positioned higher than the floor in order to adapt to prefabricated connections.
This project, which perfectly fulfilled the company’s request, would actually be judged much too economical; exactly what Achille Castiglioni wanted: “a smaller size series with simple shapes designed for the “larger public”.
