Castiglioni chose a high precision quartz movement with a battery and examined traditional models of watches for men and women to identify the largest possible dial.

By reducing the circular rim to minimum thickness, the dial had the largest possible ground for clear and easily readable hours and minutes.

The crown for regulating the hands and the attachments for the strap - in nylon or leather and easily replaceable under the chromed brass case - are masked under the dial.

The result is an exceptionally readable watch that is all dial. It is essential, based on the principle of removing rather than adding.
